Requirements
Must:
- A strong portfolio of successful UX work.
- Deep analytical thinking with the ability to communicate insights through presentations and reports.
- Skilled in designing accessible systems and services, with a good understanding of WCAG 2.2 guidelines and inclusive design for users with varying levels of digital literacy (desirable).
- Experience in creating intuitive, user-friendly digital experiences backed by solid user research and usability testing.
- Proficient in prototyping and design tools including Figma, Adobe XD, Axure, and Balsamiq.
- Familiarity with research and analysis tools such as Dovetail, Mural, and Microsoft Forms.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and analytical tools like Google Analytics (both desirable).
- Comfortable working within Agile frameworks and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and practices (desirable).
- A degree or equivalent qualification related to the area you work in - Desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct user research using various methods, including interviews and surveys, to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze research findings and produce insights to guide design decisions.
- Create and produce artifacts based on research, such as personas, user journeys, and service blueprints.
- Develop wireframes and designs at various fidelity levels, gathering feedback to iterate on designs.
- Build interactive prototypes to test design options.
- Lead workshops with stakeholders and users to gather insights and feedback.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, users, business analysts, technical teams, and product owners to enhance user experience.
- Conduct and analyze usability testing to evaluate digital systems and services.
- Ensure inclusivity in research activities and adherence to WCAG 2.2.
- Design information architecture for effective user navigation.
- Define success metrics with stakeholders to facilitate continual service iterations.
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams using Agile methods.
- Advocate for and educate client teams on user-centered design, including mentoring.
