Requirements
Must:
- Strong background in retail technologies, including store systems and POS platforms
- Proven experience in solution architecture, covering integration patterns, data flows, and system compatibility
- Solid understanding of enterprise scale software environments and retail operational processes
- Desirable experience in microservices architecture, containerised environments, and modern integration patterns
- Knowledge of RFID capabilities, such as inventory accuracy, stock management, or mobile/contactless checkout
- Experience in self-checkout solution design and implementation
- Familiarity with sales transaction systems and complex retail payment flows
- Experience working in global retail or multi-territory store operations
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of high quality solution architecture across retail technology initiatives
- Architect and support POS system integrations and upgrades, ensuring seamless operation across store environments
- Oversee data migration, interface design, and integration with key backend systems including Oracle Retail, finance platforms, and other supporting services
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into actionable technical designs
- Ensure solutions meet architectural principles, security standards, and long term maintainability
Description
We are working with a leading consumer brand, looking for an experienced Solution Architect specializing in Point of Sale (POS) and retail technologies. This role provides extensive cross-functional exposure and comes at a significant time of investment in technology, aligned with our global expansion and digital strategy. The role requires just 2 days per week onsite with convenient transport links from London and easy parking access.
