Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in leading enterprise architecture, portfolio governance, and IT delivery transformations
- Strong understanding of IT operating models, particularly federated structures
- Ability to operate at executive and Board level
- Experience in defining and articulating transformation journeys
- Competency in project governance and IT demand management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with IT maturity assessment and target operating models
- Relevant qualifications in IT architecture or related fields

- Establish a single, coherent view of the current IT landscape across infrastructure, applications, data, integrations, suppliers, and demand channels
- Define the enterprise target-state architecture and transition states, ensuring consistency and alignment across all IT domains
- Design a federated architecture governance model, with clear decision rights, forums, and guardrails for central and divisional teams
- Define the enterprise framework for IT demand management, project governance, and portfolio transparency across Group and Divisions
- Establish a unified IT strategy, planning, and investment process to drive alignment, reuse, and value realization
- Define the future-state operating model for the Architecture & Projects domain, including processes, tooling, roles, and structures
- Produce the Architecture & Projects elements of the IT transformation roadmap, implementation plan, and investment case
Description
We are a FTSE 250 organisation embarking on a significant IT transformation programme and are looking for an Interim Head of IT Architecture & Projects to lead our efforts. This role will be based in London with a hybrid work model and is expected to start in January 2026 for an initial duration of 6 months. We offer a competitive day rate between £800 and £1000. This is a high-profile opportunity to shape how our technology investments, architecture, and delivery are governed and executed across our growing organisation, contributing directly to our ambitious growth plans.
