Requirements
Must:
- Full UK Driving Licence (occasional travel to other UK offices)
- Proactive and customer-focused attitude
- Hands-on experience in IT Helpdesk support
- Familiarity with desktops, mobile devices, network systems, and global software platforms
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Respond to helpdesk tickets, emails, and calls in a timely and professional manner
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment
- Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware according to company standards
- Escalate complex issues to Group IT or relevant third-party vendors when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions using the company’s ticketing system
- Support on-boarding and off-boarding processes, including device setup and user account management
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the Group IT team to implement global initiatives locally
- Assist with local IT projects and infrastructure upgrades as needed
- Provide support to the Group IT helpdesk, contributing to global ticket resolution and cross-site collaboration
Description
We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a 1st Line IT Helpdesk Technician role due to an internal move within our long-standing engineering client based in Northamptonshire. This is a full-time permanent position from Monday to Friday, with working hours of 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Mon-Thurs) and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Fridays, including a one-hour lunch break in an office-based setting. The basic salary is £40,000 plus benefits, which include an employer-contributory pension, on-site parking, a kitchen area, free fruit available all day, and 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays. No two days will be the same in this hands-on role as you tackle various IT-related issues with our dynamic team.
