Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience in Node.js and TypeScript
- Proven track record in building and scaling backend systems and APIs
- Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems
- Proficiency in data modeling with PostgreSQL
- Experience leading projects or teams and mentoring engineers
- Familiarity with operating in production environments
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven systems
- Exposure to AI/LLM integrations
- Strong system design skills
- Ownership mindset and ability to operate in fast-moving startup environments
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of backend architecture, APIs, and microservices
- Design and build scalable systems using Node.js and TypeScript
- Work across REST APIs, event-driven architecture, data pipelines, and distributed systems
- Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability as the platform grows
- Set technical direction and mentor other engineers
- Contribute to engineering culture and collaborate with AI engineers, data teams, and product stakeholders
- Translate complex workflows into robust production-grade systems
- Build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations
- Design microservices and implement event-driven architectures
- Implement CI/CD, observability, and monitoring
- Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and performant
- Play a key role in technical strategy, code quality, and engineering standards
