Requirements

Must:
- BTEC/NVQ level education or vendor-specific certification (e.g., Microsoft, CompTia) preferred. - At least 1 year of experience in a similar role preferred. - Proficiency in Windows 10 and 11 OS deployment and support in an Active Directory environment. - Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell. - Experience with Microsoft Office Applications and Office 365. - Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory user account management. - Understanding of NTFS Permissions and local/GPO Security Policies. - Experience with user hardware, including board-level support and configuration for desktops and laptops. - Knowledge of PC peripherals such as printer configuration and support. - Core knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, 802.1X, VLANs). - Understanding of DHCP and DNS. - Awareness of Information Security best practices. - Conceptual understanding of Antivirus, URL Filtering, and spam identification. - Experience with Business Audio and Visual Solutions like projectors and conference systems. - Knowledge of backup methodologies and practices. - Understanding of availability monitoring tools. - Trustworthy, responsible, and strong communication skills. - Approachable demeanor with a passion for helping users. - Strong end-user focus and excellent work ethic in providing customer service. - Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and learn quickly on the job. - Good time management skills.

Responsibilities

- Support users in local sites as well as onshore terminals and offshore installations using a helpdesk system and remote support tools. - Provide a high level of flexibility and IT support for users. - Maintain IT hardware and operational software to meet business requirements. - Assist in monitoring the availability of resources for end users. - Help with backup processes when required. - Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. - Attend training courses to keep personal and team skills updated with developments. - Be aware of Health & Safety requirements in line with guidelines from the QSHE Team. - Perform additional tasks as required by the role and the companys business objectives.

We are a leading independent Oil & Gas operator based in Norwich, currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. We offer a full-time, 12-month contract position, working Monday to Friday in our Norwich office. There may be occasional site visits for project work. We are looking for an energetic and driven individual who will be a core team player in a diverse support environment, committed to delivering high-quality IT support while adapting to new challenges.
