Requirements
Must:
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Understanding of backup, recovery, or storage concepts
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls)
- Proficient in working with logs and basic troubleshooting tools
- Excellent communication skills, especially in customer-facing situations
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming customer support cases, ensuring prompt and professional responses
- Manage and progress support cases, taking ownership of issues through to resolution when appropriate
- Gather diagnostic information and log files, performing initial technical analysis
- Resolve entry-level and intermediate technical issues using documentation, knowledge base articles, and guidance from senior engineers
- Clearly explain issues and potential solutions to customers in a professional and approachable manner
- Escalate complex or unresolved cases to Level 2 / Level 3 support with well-documented findings
- Maintain accurate case notes in the support ticketing system
- Assist with testing new software releases and pre-release builds
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota for 24x7 support (currently approximately 1 week in 8; full training provided)
