Requirements
Must:
We are seeking candidates who possess a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics with a grade of at least 2:1 or an equivalent qualification and experience. Proven experience in the relevant industry is essential. You should have experience with Linux and the development of real-time software in C/C++, Java, or Python. Additionally, familiarity with robotics, machine control systems, and automation is crucial. A basic understanding of electronics and the ability to read electrical schematics is required. Experience with ROS, machine learning, and OpenCV is advantageous. Knowledge of CODESYS or similar PLC software is beneficial, and experience in testing or reviewing software written by others is desirable. You must have experience working in a multi-disciplined engineering team and be able to think laterally when problem-solving. A strong appetite for learning new technologies and applications, along with the ability to communicate complex procedures to colleagues, is essential. We value self-motivated, proactive individuals with a results-driven approach who can work to deadlines while maintaining high quality. Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel and Word, is also required.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will require you to write efficient, well-designed, testable, and maintainable code. You will need to integrate software components into a fully functional software system and troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems. It is important for you to maintain a knowledge of current software development trends to assist in the development of current and future products and internal product design processes. You will also develop flowcharts, state diagrams, and other documentation to clarify and identify requirements and solutions. Verification and validation of fellow developers' designs will be part of your responsibilities. We expect you to host and participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout the development process. Coaching team members to improve their capabilities and develop their software knowledge and expertise is vital. Additionally, you will generate operating and troubleshooting instructions suitable for integration into customer manuals and contribute to the selection and specification of the electronics hardware that software will be installed onto and interface with. You must communicate professionally with fellow staff, directors, and clients while maintaining strict deadlines and prioritizing workflow according to needs.

Our primary focus is to track the latest technology and engineering advancements to create novel solutions to previously unsolved complex problems faced by our customers. The team is involved in concept design, innovative product development, and supporting the delivery of complete manufacturing and technical data packs associated with our contracts. We also provide hands-on support for demonstrations, installation, testing, and commissioning of new products both internally and at customer sites all over the world.
