Requirements
Must:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server
- Preferably, but not essentially, experience with MySQL
- Solid High Availability knowledge including Clusters, Replication, and Galera
- Firm understanding of networking and security (firewalls, VPN configuration)
- Hands-on VMware experience (vSphere and vCenter)
- Full UK driving licence
- Own transport due to rural location
- Nice to Have: Exposure to Neo4J or cloud technologies
- Nice to Have: Knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) and Active Directory
- Nice to Have: Interest in IoT protocols such as MQTT or LoRaWAN
- Nice to Have: Experience with IP camera systems
- Nice to Have: Experience delivering technical training to non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
- Performance-tuning and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring reliability across all environments
- Configuring firewalls, VPNs, and networking for secure connectivity
- Managing vCenter and vSphere environments that host mission-critical applications
- Providing technical expertise for internal systems and supporting international client installations
- Documenting processes and maintaining standards of excellence across deployments
