Requirements
Must:
- Professional experience in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Strong, practical experience in automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience deploying and maintaining containerised applications using Kubernetes or Docker.
- Good demonstrable knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS and Lambda.
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline development using GitHub Actions.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with development teams in a multidisciplinary, user-centered, agile environment to implement automation and best practices for cloud-based solutions using AWS services.
- Design, build, and deploy containerised applications on Kubernetes and maintain the Kubernetes cluster.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and security, investigating problems and owning issues.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to automation, processes, and tools.
- Manage your own workload to produce a high standard of work within delivery cycles or against project goals.
- Maintain a keen interest in relevant digital, data, and technology to promote the adoption of beneficial standards and practices.

At The National Archives, we are the official archive for the UK Government and for England and Wales, holding millions of records dating back over 1,000 years. We are looking for a motivated and creative Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Digital Services department, which is made up of agile, multi-disciplinary teams focusing on user-focused products for diverse audiences. This full-time position based at our Kew site offers a generous benefits package, including a pension, annual leave, and opportunities for training and development.
