Requirements
Must:
- Proven expertise in cyber security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, Cyber Essentials)
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, risk management, and internal controls
- Familiarity with security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, EDR, MFA, encryption, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Entra
- Experience with incident response, cyber forensics, and enterprise security architecture
- Understanding of secure-by-design principles and managing third-party security risks
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills for assessing, documenting, and escalating cyber risks
- Ability to interpret vulnerability scans and penetration tests
- Experience delivering awareness programs, phishing simulations, and staff training
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Hands-on experience with cyber security tools or SOC services for threat monitoring, detection, and response
- Experience leading or supporting incident investigations and coordinating DR and BCP exercises
- Knowledge of audits, compliance certifications, policy deployment, and regulatory requirements
- Capability to provide strategic advice to senior leadership or Boards
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of the organization’s cyber security activities to protect digital systems and information assets
- Maintain the cyber risk register and lead investigations into security breaches
- Coordinate disaster recovery (DR) and cyber incident response efforts
- Support business continuity planning (BCP), including defining Restore Point Objectives (RPOs) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs)
- Ensure compliance with cyber security and information governance policies
- Provide subject matter expertise across the organization
- Advise colleagues and senior stakeholders on cyber security matters
- Liaise with third-party providers to safeguard our digital environment
- Combine strategic oversight with direct ownership of day-to-day cyber security delivery
- Drive continuous improvement in security maturity and organizational resilience
Description
We are looking for a Cyber Security Lead to provide strategic leadership and direction for cyber security across our organization. This is a hands-on, standalone role where youll ensure the protection of our digital systems against emerging threats. You will work closely with our Technology Manager and external IT providers while maintaining a focus on compliance and governance.
