Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in upholstery and pattern cutting (commercial furniture experience desirable).
- Strong understanding of upholstery construction, foams, textiles, and frames.
- Experience working with external or international design partners (a plus).
- Hands-on, practical problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking skills.
- CAD or technical drawing experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) - beneficial but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design studios to turn creative concepts into technically and commercially feasible products.
- Develop prototypes, test comfort and ergonomics, and solve construction challenges.
- Source and test upholstery materials, foams, and finishes aligned with design intent and sustainability goals.
- Produce and maintain detailed specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to manage sampling and production.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and scalable solutions.
- Support the development and improvement of existing upholstery ranges.
