Responsibilities
As a Software Engineering Apprentice, you will:
- Develop your programming skills in industry-standard languages such as C++ and Java.
- Gain experience working in a multi-disciplined agile environment alongside experienced engineers.
- Familiarize yourself with business management tools for managing requirements and formal documentation.
- Utilize new tools and infrastructure used in the development engineering environment.
- Contribute to the development of secure, quality software solutions that adhere to timelines and budgets.
- Apply domain-specific knowledge and mathematical skills to model and develop real-world solutions across various industries, including aerospace and underwater systems.
- Develop creative and bespoke software solutions.
- Enhance your organizational skills and build effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Explore digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics.

Description
We offer a fantastic opportunity through our 2026 Software Engineering Apprenticeship, which is a Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship. Beginning on 07 September 2026, you will earn £24,000 per year and work Monday to Friday for a total of 37 hours each week. During this 4-year programme, you will combine university studies with practical application in our Crawley office. You will spend four days a week working in our software function and dedicate one day per week to your apprenticeship studies at Warwick University. At the conclusion of the apprenticeship, you will be qualified as a software engineer and will obtain a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions, in addition to your Level 6 apprenticeship qualification.
