Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner (or Product Manager with strong delivery focus) in data or platform teams
- Strong hands-on understanding of AWS services, particularly those used in data platforms (e.g. S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, IAM)
- Solid experience with Databricks, including data engineering and analytics use cases
- Familiarity with modern data architectures (lakehouse, data lakes, streaming, batch processing)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong prioritisation and decision-making skills
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in complex environments
- Desirable (Nice to Have): Experience supporting machine learning or advanced analytics platforms
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and metadata management
- Background in SQL, Python, or similar (not required to code, but must be data-literate)
- Experience managing cloud cost optimisation initiatives
- Databricks or AWS certifications

Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for data platform capabilities on AWS and Databricks
- Work closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, and stakeholders to define and prioritise features and enhancements
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements
- Act as the primary point of contact for data platform stakeholders across the organisation
- Ensure data products are scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and aligned with best practices
- Drive adoption and value realisation of Databricks (e.g. data engineering, analytics, ML use cases)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to plan sprints, manage dependencies, and remove blockers
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform strategy
- Monitor platform usage, performance, and ROI, and continuously optimise based on feedback
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements
