Requirements
Must:
- Azure Stack experience
- Azure Blob Storage / ADLS proficiency
- Azure SQL Database knowledge
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Understanding of Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience with Azure Functions
- Lead engineer experience in delivering end-to-end DWH
- Ability to design and implement Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architecture
- Experience producing Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
- Proficient in dimensional modelling (Kimball) and star schemas
- Knowledge of SCD Type 2
- Understanding of MDM concepts (entity resolution, golden records)
- Experience with batch & incremental ETL/ELT pipelines
- Proficiency in file-based ingestion (CSV/XLS) with error handling
- Familiar with SQL Server replication (snapshot/delta strategies)
- Knowledge of partitioning strategies (date/size-based)
- Experience with REST APIs for real-time data queries
- Ability to perform source-to-target validation and exception reporting
- Familiarity with Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, and Key Vault
- Knowledge of row-level security, PII handling, and audit trails
- Proficient in Git workflows
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of an end-to-end data warehouse on Azure
- Take ownership of the data platform architecture and ingestion pipelines
- Establish best practices for data engineering and DevOps
- Deliver a scalable Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architecture
- Make architectural decisions and produce Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
- Implement dimensional modelling and star schemas
- Develop batch and incremental ETL/ELT pipelines
- Execute file-based ingestion with error handling
- Implement partitioning strategies for data optimization
- Optimize REST APIs for real-time data queries
- Conduct source-to-target validation and handle exceptions
- Ensure data security and compliance with Azure tools
- Develop and manage Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Automate infrastructure provisioning via Infrastructure as Code
