Oracle Database Administrator

I am responsible for the design, build, and day-to-day support of Oracle databases, each of which is 100TB in size and growing. These databases contain over 13 billion rows of data and process approximately 1 billion SQL statements daily. As a member of our DevOps team, I work closely with application and infrastructure POD SMEs to ensure that these critical services function to the required standards. I actively maintain and improve SLAs, ensuring compliance with our policies at all times. In my role, I participate in achieving organizational objectives for efficiency, innovation, and quality delivery. I perform proactive analyses on day-to-day tasks, identifying areas for automation. I also report and follow up on process or technical gaps, reducing repeat or false incidents, and standardizing tasks and processes. Support is required 24/7, and I typically work on-call one week in four, including weekends (usually one in four). I will receive compensatory time-off in accordance with HR guidelines for my weekend duties.
