Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (infrastructure-level management).
- Experience working with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization, etc.).
- Practical experience with the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) for OpenShift migrations.
- Proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and the ability to build/maintain pipelines.
- Experience designing, building, or supporting multi-OS virtual platforms (Windows, Linux, compute guests).
- Strong understanding of host-level operations, patching, updates, and lifecycle management.
- Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, EX280, etc.) are preferred.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments is preferred.
- Understanding of containerization best practices and platform engineering principles is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build, configure, test, and manage hosts within OpenShift and virtualized environments.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize host and VM templates to support consistent deployments.
- Provide operational support across the platform lifecycle: provisioning, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Perform migrations using MTV (Migration Toolkit for Virtualization) to move workloads into OpenShift.
- Use Ansible to automate routine tasks, deployments, and configuration changes.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and platform automation.
- Design and build new virtual platforms capable of hosting mixed workloads (Windows, Linux, guest OSs, compute guests).
- Execute platform patching, updates, and remediation activities as part of a secure operating model.
Description
We are seeking several highly skilled OpenShift Engineers for a 12-month contract based in Yorkshire, with 60% onsite work. You will support the creation, testing, and manipulation of hosts within a complex OpenShift environment, focusing on template management, lifecycle support, and migrations.
