Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with RHEL 7/8/9
- Deep understanding of Linux internals, SELinux, networking, and storage
- Experience with Automation Platforms
- Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite for patching and lifecycle management
- Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
- Experience working in secure, regulated, or large-scale enterprise environments
Responsibilities
- Developing automation for provisioning, configuration, patching, and compliance
- Troubleshooting complex OS, performance, networking, and security issues
- Driving platform standardization, engineering best practices, and operational improvements
- Supporting major upgrades, migrations, and transformation initiatives
- Collaborating with architecture, cloud, and security teams
Description
We are looking for a talented Linux Engineer to join our major long-term transformation programme in East Yorkshire, UK. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical engineering across large Linux estates and wants to help shape modern, automated, secure platforms at enterprise scale. You will be part of a specialist engineering team responsible for delivering robust, secure, and automated Linux platforms. This is a 6-12 month contract with a scope extending over several years, and we offer a hybrid working arrangement.
