Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Advanced degrees preferred
- 15 years of experience in data, analytics, and cloud architecture
- 5 years leading Azure data-modernisation or analytics-platform initiatives
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional data teams
- Proven experience in IT consulting or professional services
- Experience building or scaling practice-level capabilities (offerings, IP, GTM)
- Deep hands-on and architectural experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Strong understanding of Lakehouse architecture, medallion patterns, and batch/streaming data processing
- Experience designing AI-ready enterprise data platforms
- Expertise in Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage, and governance
- Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance
- Experience implementing DataOps, monitoring, and observability for data platforms
- Scripting experience (Python, PySpark, SQL)
- Familiarity with AI and ML platforms (Azure ML, Databricks ML)
- Previous leadership experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning in cloud technologies
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AI certifications are a strong plus
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Azure Data Modernisation offerings aligned to enterprise data, analytics, and AI transformation
- Define end-to-end data modernisation use cases, including data platform assessments and migration strategies
- Establish reference architectures and best practices for data platforms in line with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
- Drive innovation and thought leadership in AI-ready data architectures
- Act as a subject matter expert across Azure Data & AI services
- Guide teams on best practices for data platform scalability, security, and governance
- Own and evolve the EMEA go-to-market strategy for Azure Data Modernisation capabilities
- Partner with sales leadership to prioritize offerings and solutions
- Drive adoption of modern data and analytics engineering practices
- Partner with TGS Sales team to engage customers and define data modernisation roadmaps
- Lead technical discovery workshops and executive-level conversations
- Provide solution architecture and technical accountability during the pre-sales lifecycle
- Identify and design data modernisation and AI solutions, ensuring alignment with customer goals
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure seamless customer engagement
- Establish delivery quality governance, ensuring compliance and scalability
Description
We are seeking a dynamic technology leader to join our Azure Platform team as a Senior Azure Data Modernisation Architect. This role is pivotal in building, scaling, and delivering Azure Data Modernisation capabilities across EMEA, supporting both internal growth and strategic customer engagements.
