Requirements
Must:
- I need someone who can design and implement systems and software that meet our requirements using appropriate tools and methods.
- You will promote the creation of high-quality code by committing to practices such as test-driven development, pair programming, and code reviews.
- I expect you to be responsible for the technical development of all stages of software creation, including testing, and ensure that implementations meet security, performance, and safety requirements.
- I would like you to suggest improvements to our code base, development processes, tooling, and working practices. Encouraging innovation by identifying, evaluating, and adopting emerging technologies is essential.
- Assisting with the design, implementation, and testing of APIs adhering to the Open API specification is also part of the job.
Responsibilities
- You should demonstrate commercial software development experience.
- Practical experience in system design, development, testing, and ensuring operational stability is crucial.
- I require deep knowledge and experience in Python and its ecosystem, including its patterns and pitfalls.
- Experience in applying continuous delivery, test-driven development, and pair programming is necessary.
- Working within an agile environment and a solid understanding of Scrum principles is vital.
- I expect you to have experience writing and consuming RESTful APIs in Python.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch is essential.
- You should also have experience in creating web application UIs using ReactJS and TypeScript.
Description
In this role, you will work closely with our Head of Engineering, Head of Data Science, QA Manager, Lead Software Developers, Software Developers, and Chief Technology Officer. Additionally, you will collaborate across the organization. We welcome candidates who see opportunities, are proactive, and are energetic, wanting to make a difference in the way we work.

We offer a competitive basic salary of £64,000 plus excellent benefits, and this is a hybrid role, requiring you to be in our London office for 4 to 8 days per month while the rest can be remote.
