Lead Python Developer

- Lead the development and maintenance of software that aligns with our organisational objectives for your specific team. - Promote the creation of high-quality code using modern agile engineering practices such as TDD, CI/CD, pair programming, and continuous monitoring. - Work closely with QA and Product teams to facilitate project success. - Act as an expert in various knowledge areas and promote the sharing of knowledge within the organisation. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and take action accordingly. - Encourage innovation by evaluating and adopting emerging technologies. - Collaborate with the Head of Engineering on recruitment and onboarding of team members. - Identify capability gaps and ensure continual development of team members through mentoring and coaching. - Represent the engineering discipline to your team and work closely with other Lead Software Developers to ensure consistency in working practices while limiting duplication and waste. - Contribute to and work in alignment with the Engineering Team Charter and other organisational strategies, motivating team members to do the same. - Address performance issues with low-performing team members effectively. - Communicate clear, concise updates to executive leadership with authority and confidence. - Engage effectively with non-technical stakeholders using clear, non-technical language. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement within your team and across engineering.
