Must:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following essential skills and experience:
- Previous infrastructure or platform engineering work, ideally with some VMWare Cloud Foundation (VCF) exposure.
- Solid understanding of data-centric security principles.
- Strong fundamentals in networking, storage, operating systems, as well as platform monitoring and logging.
Desirable experience includes familiarity with Ministry of Defence (MOD) systems and assurance processes.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will need you to act as an infrastructure and application engineer with expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, building, and continuously improving our private cloud platform to support a data-centric security initiative.
- Turning business and application needs into scalable VCF reference architectures, which will encompass management and workload domains, VI workload design, and options for consolidated or standard deployments.
- Planning capacity and producing Bill of Materials (BOM) and Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)-compliant designs across compute, storage, and networking, including edge setups.
- Maintaining, improving, and securing our multi-classification virtualized collaboration and development environments.
- Standing up and configuring VCF with automated deployments, integrating and configuring platform services as needed, and setting up templates, standard operating procedures, and baselines for application teams.
Description
This is a contract position with a rate of £525-£550 per day, operating outside IR35. Our consultancy is at the forefront of national security initiatives, and it is important to note that this project requires onsite work.
