Requirements
Must:
- Experience leading engineering teams within complex, service-led or high-assurance environments
- Strong understanding of service management, incident handling, and controlled change delivery
- Ability to manage competing priorities across live service and project delivery
- Experience identifying and reducing technical debt
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Calm, structured approach in high-pressure situations
- Organised, methodical, and delivery-focused
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering resources across patching, updates, and ongoing maintenance
- Ensure changes are clearly communicated and service impact is understood and controlled
- Work with the Technical Authority to identify technical debt and define remediation plans
- Bring in specialist resources where required
- Partner with the Product Owner to size, plan, and prepare engineering activity for change delivery
- Lead the response to incidents from P1 to P4, ensuring expertise is applied quickly
- Act as Incident Manager for major P1 and P2 incidents, driving resolution
- Maintain structure, clarity, and accountability across engineering and service teams
