Must:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be both technically skilled and commercially aware, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights. Essential skills and experience: - Proven experience working within an MI function, ideally in financial services. - Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing stored procedures. - Advanced Excel skills and experience using DAX for Power BI development. - Experience creating insightful reports and visualizations using Power BI, SSRS, Cognos, or similar tools. - Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to deliver MI from a defined analytical brief. - Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Desirable skills and attributes: - Strong communication and presentation skills — able to explain complex analysis in a clear and engaging way. - Curious and analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving. - Organized, adaptable, and able to meet time-sensitive deadlines. - Experience mentoring or supporting more junior team members. - Enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

As an MI Analyst, you’ll work collaboratively with business stakeholders to deliver insightful reporting, analysis, and modeling. You’ll turn data into meaningful information that supports decision-making, drives business growth, and ensures regulatory compliance. Your specific responsibilities include: - Collaborating with stakeholders and product teams to deliver strategic and tactical MI solutions. - Using advanced visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to monitor business performance, portfolio health, and strategic initiatives. - Developing, enhancing, and automating regular MI reporting using SQL, DAX, and Excel. - Analyzing both structured and unstructured data from Data Warehouses and Data Lakes to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. - Contributing to the production of regulatory and compliance reports, providing insightful commentary for senior decision-makers. - Supporting the business with technical expertise and analytical guidance. - Mentoring and supporting junior analysts where required, sharing best practices and knowledge. - Working within an Agile Kanban environment, contributing to continuous improvement through safe code reviews, testing, and deployment.
