Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates with a proven background in Artificial Intelligence engineering within the public sector. Ideally, you will hold active SC clearance or have experience with government projects. Key requirements include: - Proficiency in Python. - An understanding of deploying and monitoring AI systems in a cloud environment. - Familiarity with tools for working with Large Language Models via API or in a local context (e.g., HuggingFace transformers). - Experience with natural language processing, deep learning, and generative AI.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for: - Ideating and developing one or more AI projects, which could be fully-fledged internal applications or services built for the government's major missions in collaboration with other departments. - Writing and reviewing code on a daily basis. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to quickly assess customer needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions leveraging AI. - Leading the design and establishment of frameworks, tools, and processes to responsibly develop, deploy, and monitor AI products. - Evangelizing best practices in applied AI across government. - Staying updated on the latest developments in AI, including new models and paradigms.

In addition to the required skills, it is nice to have experience in the following areas: - Building AI agents or products that rely on AI agents. - Developing and working with tools and interfaces for AI applications (e.g., Anthropic's Model Context Protocol). - Training traditional Machine Learning and Deep Learning models. - Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker. - Experience designing software services with an understanding of infrastructure, including dependencies like databases and message queues and collaborating with existing services. - Proven ability to work with non-engineering disciplines, such as design and user research, to plan and deliver work of measurable value as part of a product team. This includes prioritizing, breaking down, and sequencing technical work to achieve the best possible outcomes.
