Requirements
Must:
- Solid data science background, ideally within a government or public-sector setting
- Hands-on experience with Python and SQL, including data cleaning, analysis, and working with/modifying existing Jupyter notebooks
- Strong ability to interpret data findings and produce clear, well-structured research reports
- Confidence providing assurance and guidance on analytical outputs
- Familiarity with NLP (Natural Language Processing)
- Proven track record of evaluating AI/ML systems or tools, including assessing model performance, developing or applying evaluation metrics, or conducting technical assessments (Desirable)
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex datasets to support evidence-based decision-making
- Utilize Python and SQL for data cleaning and analysis
- Modify and enhance existing Jupyter notebooks as needed
- Produce clear and structured research reports based on data findings
- Provide assurance and guidance on the analytical outputs produced
- Contribute to evaluations of AI/ML systems and their performance metrics (if applicable)
Description
We are supporting a government organization in search of a skilled Data Scientist to join our team on a 6-month contract. This hybrid role allows for flexibility with 2-3 days on-site in London, Manchester, or Bristol each week. We value individuals with a strong analytical background who are passionate about leveraging data to drive meaningful impact in the public sector.
