Requirements
Must:
- 1 year working in IT support provision
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Basic knowledge of troubleshooting network infrastructure issues (WAN, LAN, etc.)
- Good understanding of overall technology concepts and terminology
- Demonstrable analytical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good working knowledge of current Windows PC operating systems
- Good working knowledge of current Windows File Server environments
- Knowledge of current data communications methodology
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, timely, and courteous support for end users by resolving computer software/hardware problems
- Receive, log, monitor, and respond promptly to Service Requests across three communication channels
- Escalate complex and high-priority Service Records to both internal and external teams as per agreed processes
- Provide technical support on the Beanstore Till system and all related hardware, software, and data networks
- Assess technical errors and determine resolution processes for till peripherals (e.g., Till Printers, Scanners, PEDs)
- Follow-up on issue resolution via communication with front-end customers
- Serve as a customer-centric interface for users of The Range IT systems and external parties
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the IT Service Desk Team Leader and senior members of staff
- Stay updated on new technologies implemented by the business to maintain expert knowledge
Description
We are seeking a dynamic IT Service Desk Technician to join our expanding team at our Head Office in Plymouth. As part of a busy Incident team, you will provide comprehensive support to our end customers in a retail environment. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:45 am to 5:30 pm, with the possibility of adjusting to a new pattern after a short training period.
