Requirements
Must:
- Proven track record developing stable Android applications for embedded devices (not just mobile apps).
- Strong skills in Java for Android, including associated tools and test frameworks.
- Expertise in UI design and implementation.
- Experience with API integration.
- Ability to produce detailed requirements and design documentation.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable explaining complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of AOSP.
- Experience with Android Kiosk mode and custom controls.
- Background in safety-critical software development (automotive, aerospace, medical devices, etc.).
- Proficiency with Android Studio.
- Familiarity with MVC, MVP, MVVM patterns.
- Knowledge of Appium, bootloaders, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience with peer code reviews and cybersecurity awareness.
- Cloud or IoT development experience.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Embedded Android Developer, you'll work alongside some of the brightest minds in the UK, building new Android functionality and enhancing our highly sophisticated existing codebase. This hands-on role occurs in a truly agile environment, with daily stand-ups and fortnightly sprints as part of our work rhythm.
