Must:
We are looking for candidates with specific experience in testing Telecoms Network Infrastructure, including expertise in CISCO Switches, Routers, and Firewalls. Proficiency in RFC 2544 testing and Network Connectivity testing is essential. Familiarity with network test equipment and handling fibre optic cabling is also required. Additionally, candidates should have experience in importing test cases, managing test execution evidence, and defect management in ALM. Knowledge of StableNet Network and Service Management tools, as well as the ability to interpret Network infrastructure design from High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD), is highly desirable. Experience in the Telecoms or National Network Infrastructure domain is preferred.
Responsibilities
As a Network Test Engineer, I will be responsible for supporting a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) network connectivity transformation programme. I will create test scripts based on Test Plans and Low-Level Designs for network infrastructure, including Switches, Routers, and Firewalls. I will also perform RFC 2544 performance testing and network connectivity testing. My role will involve setting up the necessary network test equipment and executing test plans, while providing test execution evidence and managing defects through ALM.
Description
This is a 6-month contract opportunity located in Newbury with hybrid working arrangements, typically one day per week in the office and four days per week working remotely. I offer a competitive daily rate of £290 - £300 (outside IR35). This position allows you to work with a global IT services consultancy on a large-scale Network Infrastructure programme for an end-client in the Telecoms domain. Occasional travel to other sites, including Farnborough, Bath, Oxford, Warwick, and Birmingham, may be necessary. I aim to fill this position as soon as possible, with a start date in September/October 2025.
