Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Java Full Stack Developer who is SC eligible (having lived and worked in the UK for 5 or more years) or ideally has active SC Security Clearance. You should have experience with Java 8 and Java 11, as well as proficiency in the Spring Framework and Spring Boot. Familiarity with JavaScript, Angular, and NodeJS is also preferred, along with hands-on experience developing REST APIs. A solid background in Microservices development and practical Relational Database experience (e.g., PostgreSQL) is essential. Additionally, you should have experience with DevOps and CI/CD technologies, particularly with tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Ansible. Practical experience with AWS (ECS, EKS, API Gateway, and serverless technologies) is necessary, as well as familiarity with Agile development methods (Scrum, BDD, TDD, Kanban).
Responsibilities
As a Java Full Stack Developer, you will work on large-scale IT modernization programs for government clients as part of a leading global IT transformation business. Your role will involve developing and maintaining Java applications, implementing REST APIs, and engaging in Microservices development. You will also collaborate with other team members in an Agile environment, ensuring efficient deployment through CI/CD practices.
Description
This is a permanent position based in Manchester, with a hybrid working model that allows for working 5-7 days a month on-site, while offering the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the time. The salary for this position is £60,000 - £70,000, plus benefits that include an annual bonus (up to 5-10%), a pension scheme, 22 days of holiday (plus bank holidays), healthcare coverage, and death in service benefits. We are ideally looking for someone to start in October 2025. A background in the Central Government sector is advantageous for this role.
