Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Java Developer who holds active SC and NPPV3 Security Clearance. You should have experience working on Government and Public Sector projects. Candidates must have a strong understanding of Java development, particularly with large-scale Spring-based projects. Proficiency in Continuous Integration methodologies such as Maven, Jenkins, GIT, and SonarQube is essential. Familiarity with AWS services, Agile development methods, and related technologies is also required. You must demonstrate experience with unit testing frameworks and be well-versed in full tech stack including Java 17+, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.
Responsibilities
As a Java Developer, you will develop Java solutions for Microservices, messaging web services, and distributed systems. Your role will involve supporting live systems and diagnosing incidents, as well as connecting processes to various systems using message brokers like ActiveMQ. You will also work with Docker containerization, implement Continuous Integration practices, and utilize testing frameworks such as Mockito and JUnit. Additionally, you will be responsible for contributing to Agile development methodologies, including Scrum, BDD, TDD, and Kanban.
Description
This is a 6-month rolling contract based in Birmingham with hybrid working (2 days per week on-site and 3 days remote). We offer a competitive rate of £500 per day, outside IR35. The role is set to start as soon as possible in May/June 2025.
