Requirements
Must:
- Active SC Clearance
- NPPV3 Security Clearance
- Strong hands-on Java development expertise (Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Integration, Spring Batch, Microservices, REST, SOAP Web Services, JPA - Hibernate)
- Experience with large-scale integration projects (microservices, web services, messaging, distributed systems)
- Experience connecting processes across multiple systems using message brokers like ActiveMQ
- Robust experience in Web Services (SOAP, RESTful), Containerization (Docker), and testing frameworks (Mockito, JUnit, Powermock, DBUnit, JMock, TestContainers)
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration methodologies (Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, Git + Stash Repository)
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Route53, Cloudwatch, KMS)
- Helpful experience with Linux, Atlassian products, open-source DBs, PostgreSQL, or Grafana monitoring
Responsibilities
- Develop solutions for large-scale Government / Public Sector programmes
- Support live systems and diagnose/resolving incidents
- Engage in continuous integration using tools like Maven, Jenkins, and SonarQube
- Contribute to the architecture and design of microservices and web services
- Implement testing frameworks to ensure code quality
- Collaborate with team members on integration projects
- Participate in occasional travel to the Croydon office
- Work in a hybrid capacity (3 days remote, 2 days onsite)
Description
We are a leading global IT transformation business specializing in delivering large-scale Government and Public Sector projects. We offer a hybrid working environment, allowing for 3 days of remote work and 2 days in our Birmingham office. This is a 6-month contract role, paying up to £(Apply online only)/day, outside IR35. We are looking for a Java Developer to join our team and start ASAP in February/March 2026.
