We are looking for a Lead Python Developer with strong Python development expertise and excellent leadership skills. You should be capable of driving development projects and mentoring junior developers. Experience with Core Python and web frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI is essential. Additionally, familiarity with SQL Server, AWS Cloud Services, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform is required. You should also have experience in designing and implementing serverless architectures and using Docker containers. Proficiency in coding standards, Github version control, and object-oriented programming (OOP) is necessary for this role.

Responsibilities
As a Lead Python Developer, you will take the lead in designing and developing complex applications. Your responsibilities will include developing and optimizing SQL Server databases, performing data analysis, and ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. You will work closely with Front-End Developers to create seamless user interfaces using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. You will oversee the integration of various software components and be responsible for debugging and troubleshooting applications. Implementing best practices in software development will be a fundamental part of your role, including exception handling and various data structures.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Leeds, with a hybrid working model (3 days remote and 2 days in the office). You will be part of a leading global IT transformation company specializing in large-scale government and public sector projects. The salary for this position is up to £80,000, dependent on experience. Additional benefits include an annual bonus, pension, 22 days of holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 25 days), death in service coverage, and a health care plan, among others. We are looking for someone to start ASAP in December 2025 or January 2026.
