Requirements
Must:
- Specific experience in testing Telecoms Network Infrastructure, including CISCO Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and RFC 2544 testing.
- Proven ability to perform network connectivity testing.
- Proficient in creating test scripts from Test Plans and Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure.
- Experience with Cisco Switch/Router console commands.
- Familiarity with setting up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing.
- Ability to handle fibre optic cabling.
- Skilled in importing test cases, managing test cases, collecting test execution evidence, and reporting execution and defect management in ALM.
- Experience with StableNet Network and Service Management tools.
- Understanding of interpreting Network infrastructure design from High-Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD).
- Knowledge of Data Centre operating procedures.
- Experience in the Telecoms/National Network Infrastructure domain is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) network connectivity transformation programme.
- Create and execute test scripts based on established Test Plans and Low Level Designs.
- Perform performance testing and network connectivity testing, including RFC 2544.
- Set up and manage network test equipment.
- Report test execution results and manage defects using ALM.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders, interpreting designs and ensuring compliance with best practices.
Description
We are offering a 6-month contract for a Network CISCO Test Engineer in Newbury, with a hybrid working model of typically one day per week in the office and four days working remotely. We aim for you to start as soon as possible in September or October 2025. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with a global IT services consultancy on a large-scale Network Infrastructure programme for an end-client in the Telecoms domain. There may be occasional travel to other sites, including Farnborough, Bath, Oxford, Warwick, and Birmingham.
