Requirements
Must:
- Active SC Security Clearance
- Strong experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues
- Expertise with continuous integration, automated deployment, and relevant tooling (Git/GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Linux, AWS EC2, S3, EKS)
- In-depth knowledge of AWS Cloud Solutions and services (EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS, API Gateway, ALB, Autoscaling)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience in creating automation frameworks using Ansible
- Understanding of scripting and programming languages (Python, Perl, Groovy, Shell Scripting)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration (ideally with EKS)
- Experience in defining quality gates (integrating SonarQube, running Regression suites)
- Knowledge of Agile development methods (Scrum, TDD, BDD, Kanban)
- Advantageous: Government/GOV.UK/Public Sector experience, Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), AppDynamics, Angular, React, web apps, domain driven design
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues
- Implement continuous integration and automated deployment processes
- Use relevant tooling such as Git/GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and Linux
- Manage AWS Cloud Solutions and services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS, and API Gateway
- Create and maintain Infrastructure-as-code using tools like Ansible and Terraform
- Develop automation frameworks using Ansible
- Write scripts in languages such as Python, Perl, Groovy, or Shell
- Work with microservices architecture and container orchestration
- Define and implement quality gates in the delivery pipeline
- Collaborate using Agile development methods such as Scrum, TDD, BDD, and Kanban
Description
We are a leading global IT transformation business specializing in large-scale Government digital modernisation projects. We offer a competitive salary of up to £85,000 depending on experience, with hybrid working arrangements that allow primarily working from home while requiring occasional travel to the office. Our benefits include a 10% bonus, pension scheme, 22 days of holiday (increasing to 25 days with additional bank holidays), death in service coverage, and a health care plan, among others. We are located in Reading and are looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team.
