Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on experience in Databricks plus strong SQL and Python/PySpark
- Evidence of owning end-to-end analytics delivery
- Comfortable working with business and product stakeholders, challenging requirements when needed and translating them into clear data logic
- Strong data modelling skills and confidence defining/standardising metrics
- Good Power BI experience (data modelling; DAX beneficial)
Responsibilities
- Designing and maintaining clean, scalable data models (e.g. star/snowflake schemas) and defining consistent business metrics
- Building and improving ELT pipelines in Databricks using SQL and Python/PySpark, with a focus on reliability and performance
- Feeding curated datasets into Power BI (including modelling and DAX where required) to support trusted reporting
- Working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into data logic, and improve how analytics is consumed
- Contributing to good practice around documentation, data quality checks, lineage/metadata and version control, helping raise standards across the analytics function
Description
We are supporting an FCA-regulated organisation with the hire of an Analytics Engineer to strengthen our modern data and analytics capability. This is a hands-on role focused on building trusted, reusable data assets that support reporting, product insight, and decision-making across the organisation. The position is hybrid, typically requiring 2–3 days per week onsite, split between London and Ipswich.
