Must:
I am looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of experience managing teams that deliver embedded software in a commercial environment. A strong background in Linux, both as a developer and user, is essential. You should be proficient in C, C++, Python, and JavaScript. An understanding of 2D/3D graphics APIs, audio/video codecs, HDMI, and multimedia systems is expected. Familiarity with web technology stacks is a plus. I seek someone with a solid grasp of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies, and the ability to determine when to adapt them. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in delivering robust, testable code and maintaining high engineering standards. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and stakeholder management skills are also necessary. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, is required.
Responsibilities
In this hands-on leadership role, you will manage a team of up to 10 embedded software developers working in C and C++ across our A/V stack and adjacent areas. You will oversee the development and maintenance of embedded system software for high-definition video and complex audio. Collaboration is key, so you will closely work with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders in an agile environment. Your job will involve translating business and technical requirements into production-ready solutions while adapting to hardware and manufacturing schedules to balance technical excellence with delivery timelines. Additionally, you will champion quality and testing throughout the development lifecycle.
