Solution Architect – Platform Modernisation

- Proven experience in solution architecture with a focus on designing microservice and cloud-based solutions - Hands-on engineering background, with deep knowledge of software development, build, delivery, and design principles - Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, APIs, and distributed systems - Experience transforming monolithic applications into modern ecosystems - Ability to define, embed, and enforce architecture patterns, standards, and best practices - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex architectural visions and secure stakeholder buy-in - Collaborates well across teams, energising product, engineering, and architecture communities - Experience working within regulated environments, balancing innovation with compliance and risk considerations - Leadership experience, with the ability to coach and mentor teams of technologists (nice to have) - Exposure to large-scale platform programmes or innovation laboratories (nice to have) - Influence on enterprise-level technology strategy and operational models (nice to have) - Familiarity with cloud-native ecosystems, containerisation, and DevOps practices (nice to have) - A bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred) - Several years of solution architecture experience within banking, finance, or similar regulated industries (preferred)
