Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in solution architecture with a focus on designing microservice and cloud-based solutions
- Hands-on engineering background, with deep knowledge of software development, build, delivery, and design principles
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, APIs, and distributed systems
- Experience transforming monolithic applications into modern ecosystems
- Ability to define, embed, and enforce architecture patterns, standards, and best practices
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex architectural visions and secure stakeholder buy-in
- Collaborates well across teams, energising product, engineering, and architecture communities
- Experience working within regulated environments, balancing innovation with compliance and risk considerations
- Leadership experience, with the ability to coach and mentor teams of technologists (nice to have)
- Exposure to large-scale platform programmes or innovation laboratories (nice to have)
- Influence on enterprise-level technology strategy and operational models (nice to have)
- Familiarity with cloud-native ecosystems, containerisation, and DevOps practices (nice to have)
- A bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Several years of solution architecture experience within banking, finance, or similar regulated industries (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Shape the future of modernised banking platforms through strategic architecture
- Lead complex initiatives and drive the development of cutting-edge microservice and event-driven solutions
- Define and enforce robust architecture patterns and best practices across projects
- Collaborate across various teams to energise product, engineering, and architecture communities
- Articulate complex architectural visions to secure stakeholder buy-in
- Balance innovation with compliance and risk considerations while working in regulated environments
- Support the transformation of legacy systems into cloud-native architectures
- Work on a hybrid basis, spending 2 days per week in the office
