Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone with experience in building or maintaining payment systems in fintech or marketplace environments. You should have a strong knowledge of VAT, HST, GST, and multi-jurisdictional tax compliance. Proficiency in designing auditable and reliable payment and refund workflows is essential. You must be skilled in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, MySQL, and GraphQL, or be willing to learn these technologies. Additionally, excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills are a must.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Payments team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining tax-aware, compliant payment systems. You will develop automated solutions for tax calculation, refunds, and reconciliation while ensuring regulatory and audit compliance across our global payment flows. Your role will involve translating business and compliance requirements into scalable technical solutions. You will lead complex engineering tasks and provide support to junior developers through mentorship. Participation in code reviews and on-call rotations will also be part of your responsibilities to ensure system reliability.
