Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a React Native Developer with strong proficiency in React and React Native development. You should have a deep understanding of the React component lifecycle and hooks, along with solid experience utilizing TypeScript in your React projects. Familiarity with state management libraries and patterns is essential, as well as knowledge of React design patterns, including container/presentational, HOCs, and render props. Experience with linting tools and enforcing code quality is a must. You should have a proven background in JavaScript testing frameworks, as well as an awareness of security and accessibility best practices. Performance profiling and optimization experience in React applications is also important. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and workflows, maintaining and publishing shared libraries (npm packages, monorepos), and upgrading React and React Native applications across versions are key qualifications for this role.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will develop and maintain web and mobile applications using React and React Native. You will implement and optimize component lifecycle methods and React hooks, manage application state using Context API, Redux, Zustand, or similar frameworks, and apply React design patterns to deliver clean, reusable, and scalable code. You will integrate TypeScript for type safety and enhance the developer experience while enforcing code quality using linting tools (ESLint, Prettier) and following coding standards. Writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Detox, and Cypress will be part of your duties. You will also follow security best practices and implement accessibility standards (WCAG). Additionally, you will monitor performance, resolve issues using profiling and optimization techniques, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate on publishing and maintaining shared React libraries and components. Keeping up to date with the latest versions of React and React Native, including major upgrades, will be essential.
Description
This is a contract role located in Knutsford with a duration until 31/12/2025, requiring 2-3 days onsite work, non-consecutive. The day rate for this position is £340, and it falls inside IR35. We value contributions to Agile development teams and experience in developing and deploying iOS and Android apps using native or cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or Xamarin. An understanding of mobile-specific challenges in cross-platform development and contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs are also desirable.
