Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with strong experience in Java (Java 8) development and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns. You should have experience with the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data) as well as with relational databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including writing SQL queries. A knowledge of RESTful API development and integration is essential, along with familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git. We value an understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Additionally, experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, Angular, React) are desirable. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is also a plus.
Responsibilities
As a Java Engineer on our London-based technology team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Java applications and microservices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, UX, and QA, to deliver innovative solutions. Your role will involve participating in the full software development lifecycle, encompassing analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. We expect you to ensure code quality through unit testing and code reviews while adhering to best practices. You will also troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability, and stay updated with the latest Java technologies and industry trends.
