Requirements
Must:
- Extensive hands-on experience in securing complex enterprise environments
- Deep technical expertise across a broad range of security technologies
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft security ecosystems and Fortinet solutions
- Proven experience in advanced threat analysis and incident response
- Ability to design, deploy and optimise enterprise security solutions
- Strong understanding of regulatory, assurance, and compliance frameworks
- Experience in technical documentation such as architecture diagrams and playbooks
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced third-line cyber security support and technical leadership across on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments
- Lead technical investigation, containment, and eradication of complex incidents such as ransomware and targeted phishing
- Design, deploy and optimise enterprise security solutions including EDR/XDR, SIEM, and firewalls
- Conduct in-depth forensic analysis of compromised endpoints and network traffic
- Perform advanced vulnerability management and security posture assessments
- Develop and maintain robust technical documentation
- Advise on security architecture for new services and digital transformation initiatives
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and enhance detection and prevention capabilities

This role is vital in safeguarding essential public services against a complex cyber threat landscape, ensuring the resilience and security of vital council services.
