Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on experience of leading user research, using behavioural and attitudinal methods appropriately
- Experience across multiple phases of a product or service lifecycle, from discovery to delivery
- Experience working with Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and design principles
- Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary, agile teams, influencing design through user insights
- Familiarity with using prototypes to test hypotheses and validate user journeys
- Understanding of a range of tools and practices for in-person and remote research

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, developers, and other User Researchers for impactful research
- Lead the research for your team by suggesting appropriate methodologies to capture user insights
- Plan and conduct qualitative studies, including interviews, observations, diary studies, and usability studies
- Use quantitative methods, such as surveys, to identify actionable insights alongside the analytics team
- Consider the end-to-end user journey and external factors impacting user experience
- Communicate research findings and engage your team in analysis to enhance empathy with users
- Help embed user-centred design and research best practices within teams and the wider business
