Requirements
Must:
- Strong ETL experience with Pentaho and Talend
- Data virtualisation experience using Denodo
- SAS for data analytics and reporting
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills
- Hands-on AWS experience (building, integrating, or supporting data solutions in the cloud)
- Experience with DevOps tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading data initiatives or technical workstreams (nice to have)
- Agile, DevOps, or data platform certifications (nice to have)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy data integration and transformation solutions
- Develop scalable data pipelines and services for analytics and BI platforms
- Work closely with product owners, analysts, and engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions
- Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement
- Implement DevOps practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment
- Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and security
- Troubleshoot complex data and performance issues
- Mentor junior team members where required
Description
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our newly formed scrum team in Telford, working two days per week on-site on a large-scale, data-driven platform within a highly regulated public sector environment. This role focuses on building and enhancing robust data acquisition, ingestion, and risking services that underpin critical analytics and decision-making capabilities. We offer a contract for up to six months, with a daily rate of up to £530, and are committed to supporting the growth and development of our team.
