Requirements
Must:
- Senior Subject Matter Expert in R with strong knowledge of R modules and libraries
- Expertise in cloud concepts including containerization, Linux job scheduler, and HPC Architecture
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining R scripts for data analysis, modeling, and reporting
- Experience utilizing R libraries such as tidyverse, data.table, caret/mlr3, shiny, and plumber
- Familiarity with R environment configuration across local, server, and cloud platforms
- Ability to optimize R code for performance in distributed or containerized environments
- Experience with version control and reproducibility tools like renv, packrat, or Docker
- Understanding of containerization principles using Docker
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices for R scripts and dashboards
- Skills in writing and managing Linux shell scripts for automation
- Proficiency in using cron jobs or Linux job schedulers
- Strong documentation skills for R workflows and deployment procedures
- Ability to provide training and support to junior team members on R and cloud
- Commitment to data governance, security, and privacy standards
- Familiarity with coding standards, testing, and peer reviews for R scripts
- Experience with package development and management, including custom repositories
- Basic knowledge of Python and integration of storage containers in R
- Understanding of the life sciences domain is a plus
Responsibilities
- Liaise with business teams to understand key responsibilities
- Lead backlog refinement meetings to prioritize requirements
- Conduct roadmap discussions with stakeholders
- Manage and prioritize the backlog of requirements
- Collaborate with development teams and oversee their responsibilities
- Track progress and ensure timely delivery of projects
- Clarify doubts of the development team regarding requirements
- Contribute to design level discussions
- Develop and maintain robust R scripts for various data tasks
- Create reusable R modules and packages for internal use
- Configure and manage R environments across platforms
- Optimize R code performance in containerized environments
- Collaborate with DevOps teams for cloud-based R solutions
- Support CI/CD pipelines for R scripts and dashboards
- Write and manage Linux shell scripts for R script execution
- Monitor and troubleshoot scheduled jobs and system resources
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and cloud architects
- Document R workflows, setups, and deployment procedures
- Train and support junior members on R and cloud basics
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
- Promote coding standards and peer reviews for R scripts
- Evaluate and recommend tools or libraries to enhance productivity
- Facilitate package development and deployment within teams
- Manage and configure package sources and custom repositories
- Ensure the availability of packages for users
