Requirements
Must:
- Expert in SAS and SQL
- Strong stakeholder management and project management skills
- Proven experience in SAS platform migrations (preferably from Cloudera to AWS)
- AWS exposure
- Understanding of Cloudera ecosystem (Hive, HDFS)
Responsibilities
- Lead SAS migration activities from Cloudera (HDFS/Hive) to AWS
- Oversee reconfiguration of SAS servers, metadata, libraries, and connection points
- Understand and redesign SAS jobs referencing HDFS/Hive to AWS equivalents
- Manage prioritization, planning, and progress tracking for 1000 SAS jobs
- Collaborate with business SMEs for coordinated testing and sign-offs
- Validate SQL compatibility and output consistency between Cloudera and AWS
- Provide technical guidance and ensure smooth issue resolution
- Engage with senior stakeholders and provide migration status reporting
- Mentor onsite/offshore SAS engineers
Description
We are seeking a SAS Lead for a hybrid role based in Milton Keynes, with the flexibility to work 2-3 days a week in the office. This is a permanent or fixed-term contract opportunity.
