Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. You should have at least 5 years of proven experience in product ownership or systems engineering within the automotive or propulsion domain. A strong understanding of electric drive units, hybrid systems, battery integration, and/or internal combustion engine technologies is essential. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps is also necessary. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills are important, and knowledge of automotive standards like ISO 26262 and ASPICE is a plus.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will define and own the product backlog for propulsion system features, ensuring alignment with our OEM's strategy and sustainability goals. You will collaborate with system architects, engineers, and stakeholders to establish clear and testable requirements. Prioritizing backlog items based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer impact will be part of your core responsibilities. You will lead PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog grooming sessions within an Agile environment, and ensure the timely delivery of propulsion system features that meet performance, efficiency, and regulatory requirements. Acting as the primary liaison between engineering teams, program management, and senior leadership, you will also monitor and report on KPIs, feature readiness, and system integration milestones. Additionally, you will support validation and verification activities to ensure product quality and compliance, while championing continuous improvement and innovation in propulsion system development.
Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and technically proficient Product Owner to lead the development and delivery of propulsion system solutions. In this position, you will directly impact the advancement of electric, hybrid, and internal combustion technologies. Desirable skills include experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE), knowledge of vehicle-level integration and calibration processes, as well as understanding software-defined vehicle (SDV) concepts and over-the-air (OTA) update strategies. A passion for sustainable mobility and cutting-edge propulsion technologies will set you apart as a candidate. Please note that this role requires you to work onsite in the Midlands, UK, five days a week.
