Requirements
Must:
- 6 to 10 years of professional software development experience in SQL and NoSQL, with at least 5 years focused on MongoDB.
- Thorough understanding of MongoDB architecture, including Wired Tiger engine and BSON.
- Proficiency in integrating MongoDB with backend runtimes such as Node.js/Express, Python/Django/Fast API, or Java/Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP environments for database hosting.
- Working experience with Data Modeling Tools like MongoDB Compass, Mongoose, or other ODM/ORM frameworks.
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Understanding of data models in RDBMS and NoSQL environments.
- Knowledge of database best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools.
- Exposure to Agile delivery environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced MongoDB data models (normalized/denormalized) to support evolving application needs.
- Profile and fine-tune database performance by implementing sophisticated indexing strategies and analyzing query execution plans.
- Manage distributed database architectures, including sharded clusters and replica sets to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Develop complex aggregation pipelines and optimize read/write operations for large-scale datasets.
- Expertly manage MongoDB Atlas deployments, including security configurations and cloud-native monitoring.
- Implement robust security measures, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and regular security audits.
- Automate routine database operations using CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages.
- Provide technical guidance and code reviews for junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices in MongoDB development.
- Champion database best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the engineering function.
- Lead end-to-end database delivery, including schema design, performance tuning, and ongoing health monitoring across the full development lifecycle.

We are seeking a MongoDB Developer to join our team in London, UK, for a 6-month assignment, working 3 days a week.
