Must:
I am looking for candidates who have proven experience as a Mainframe Developer or in a similar role. A strong knowledge of programming languages, including CICS Web Services, COBOL, JCL, and SQL is essential. You should have experience with IBM mainframe systems and tools, a good understanding of the software development lifecycle, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, effective communication, and collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
In your role as a Mainframe Developer, you will work closely with the technical team on development and implementation journeys. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications that support critical business processes.
Description
I expect candidates to possess essential skills such as experience working in z/OS Connect EE and DB2 Rest with extensive knowledge of CICS Web Services. Development experience using tools like FileAid, Xpeditor, IBM Explorer for z/OS, and Visual Studio is important. Proficiency with SOAP, WSDL, and JSON is necessary, along with a comprehensive understanding of SOA and RESTful APIs. Familiarity with code repositories, bug tracking tools, and wikis (e.g., GitLab, Endevor, JIRA, Confluence) is valued, as is knowledge of security integration patterns such as Basic Authentication, Client Authentication (mTLS), and OAuth (JWT). Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies, including CI/CD practices and Jenkins, is also desirable. Additionally, a strong foundation in Java, including OOP and functional programming, familiarity with Spring Boot, and hands-on experience using DataPower appliances and XSLT is a plus.
