Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on experience as Database Administrator specifically with MongoDB, PostgreSQL / Oracle
- Experience managing a team
- Proficiency with database software to store, organize, and manage data
- Expert knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL data stores, including JSON and XML
- Experience with software development and distributed data processing technologies
- Proven experience in database upkeep, troubleshooting, design & development, and managing access
- Ability to design and implement maintenance procedures
- Strong liaising skills with programmers, operational staff, IT project managers, and other technical staff
- Experience in managing database security, integrity, and backup procedures
- Ability to write reports, documentation, and operating manuals
- Skills in testing and modifying databases for reliability
- Experience writing disaster recovery plans and managing data archiving/housekeeping
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and serverless architecture preferable
- Good understanding of software patterns and their application
- Knowledge of Kafka is advantageous
- Experience in an Agile/DevOps environment
- Ability to mentor and support team members
- Experience in support activities
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer PostgreSQL and Oracle databases
- Collaborate with the development team on database design and integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
- Implement and oversee database security and integrity measures
- Develop and execute maintenance procedures for databases
- Write and maintain documentation and reports for database processes
- Test and modify databases to ensure operational reliability
- Create disaster recovery plans and oversee data archiving
- Liaise with technical staff and project managers to meet operational needs
- Mentor team members and assist with support activities
Description
